ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN:

The Electronic Technician at TAVIS Corporation will perform tests on electronic systems, assemblies, and components to determine operability.  Provide support in the engineering and manufacturing of pressure transducers and related test equipment. 

Typical Duties:

  • Perform tests on electronic systems, assemblies, components, and pressure measuring systems.
  • Record test data and prepare simple charts, graphs, and data sheets.
  • Clean and perform routine maintenance on test equipment.
  • Operate a wide variety of electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
  • Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and experience that would establish possession of the knowledge and abilities listed.
  • Normally, one year of technical education or equivalent military training.
  • Direct related work experience may substitute for education requirements on a year-to-year basis.
  • Read, write and understand English at a level necessary to perform the duties of this classification.
  • Follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Use electronic testing equipment to perform a variety of routine tests.
  • Conduct tests according to established procedures.
  • Prepare simple charts or graphs.
  • Read electronic schematics and blueprints.
  • Must possess strong mechanical skills and have great attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with electronics, pressure systems, and following test procedures preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Honesty, integrity and common sense are key factors for this position.
  • Capable of physical requirements of walking about and using test or assembly equipment on light-duty manufacturing floor; minimal to moderate lifting of equipment, tooling, transporting products; desk/office/computer work; must pass color blindness test and vision test.

CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR:

The Contracts Administrator at TAVIS Corporation will administer and manage contracts and programs. Under general direction from the Contracts Manager, administer and coordinate activities involved in accepting, monitoring and performing contracts between TAVIS Corporation and customers. Responsible for the proper execution of all assigned contracts and programs from proposal to completion. 

Typical Duties:
  • Administration of purchase orders, programs and contracts,
  • Preparation of internal Sales Orders and Statements of Work/Work Instructions to adequately interpret and communicate customer requirements to Engineering, Quality, Production and Accounting. This requires the use of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for Sales Order, task and shipment maintenance.
  • Participation in pre-contract discussions and negotiations.
  • Primary point of contact between TAVIS Corporation and customers on all assigned contracts and programs.
  • Review and analyze customer Terms and Conditions to determine acceptability by interpretation of our established policies; negotiate acceptable terms if variances are needed.
  • Review contracts/purchase orders to ensure conformance to proposal and/or negotiated terms.
  • Prepare assigned proposals and quotations using our established formats and procedures.
  • Monitor company performance to ensure conformance to customer requirements and schedules.
  • Complete all necessary forms/documents required in the performance of the job function.
  • Maintain positive customer relations by providing timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.
  • Assist other departments/personnel by providing timely and accurate responses to questions regarding internal Sales Orders, Statement of Work/Work Instructions, or customer programs.
  • Assist Sales personnel and/or Engineering with outside meetings as required. This may require some travel.
  • Maintain continual review of assigned contracts to ensure that all terms and conditions are met, including obtaining adequate coverage for scope changes and/or out-of-scope tasks.
  • Provide senior management with program status and feedback/recommendations to improve products and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in contracts administration, or a combination of education and experience to establish ability to work at that level, and any combination of education and experience that would establish possession of the knowledge and abilities listed for this position.
  • Normally, 2 years training at college level or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent proficiency in writing and communicating using the English language.
  • Read and understand basic contract and purchase order terms and conditions and terminology.
  • Utilize various computer programs for data management and communications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite software, including Word and Excel.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding all contractual and schedule information; communicate professionally with other TAVIS personnel.
  • Exercise proper judgment in making decisions in accordance with company policy.
  • Capable of physical requirements of desk/office/computer work; some walking about and transporting paperwork or small boxes on light-duty manufacturing floor; minimal/lightweight lifting.

ACCOUNTING GENERALIST

Under the general supervision of the Controller, perform a wide variety of advanced accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures and TAVIS Corporation policies. The candidate needs to be detail oriented, able to multitask, adapt easily to change, work independently, possesses data entry and math skills, analyze information and have exceptional time management skills. This position may be combined with some Human Resources tasks if the candidate has these skill sets.

 Typical Duties:

  • Review and process all accounts payable bills, includes filing Purchase Orders, matching vendor bills to Purchase Orders, review for accuracy, key into software. Work with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies. Process payments.
  • Review and process all accounts receivables, key into software. Mail or email invoices to customers. Maintain Accounts Receivable records and aging, contact customers on payments.
  • Process weekly Payroll. Maintain strict level of confidence ensuring individual payroll records remain private and confidential.
  • Interpretation, review and entry of time card data for payroll and job cost records.
  • Maintain time and attendance records
  • Weekly deposits of Federal and State employee and employer payroll taxes.
  • Prepare monthly General Ledger entries and month end close.
  • W9/1099 tracking and reporting
  • Maintain Fixed Assets, depreciation, property tax
  • Quarterly Sales Tax filing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate excellent proficiency in writing and communicating using the English language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel.
  • Perform accurate calculations and data entry.
  • Interpret and apply State and Federal labor law and employment tax payment and filing requirement.
  • Capable of physical requirements of desk/office/computer work; minimal/lightweight lifting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Normally a high school diploma or equivalent, college level accounting courses or equivalent.
  • At least five years’ experience in accounting or payroll desired.
  • Human Resource experience a plus, but not necessary for the position.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software systems a plus.


ERP ADMINISTRATOR:

The ERP Admin at Tavis Corporation is under the general direction from the President of the company. The ERP Admin is responsible for the implementation, operation and management of the ERP systems at Tavis. These systems provide for, at a minimum, general cost accounting, job cost accounting, automated timekeeping, inventory control systems and customer-required cost data analysis.

The ERP Admin recommends policy as required to maintain a comprehensive database, and to ensure the availability and accuracy of appropriate data sets and high-level reports to mid and upper management. This position requires the general understanding of Tavis systems, ERP systems, general accounting principles, general costing methodology, certain contract requirements and database management.

The ERP Admin must be able to effectively collaborate with mid-level department managers to establish and document the inputs to, and the outputs from, the ERP system in order to support the company’s departmental functions and data needs. The ERP ADMIN devises methods of configuration control with appropriate approvals for the documented ERP inputs and outputs. The ERP Admin is charged with improving company efficiencies through the appropriate application of the ERP system software. Included is the duty to train other employees in the proper use of the company’s ERP systems.

The ERP Admin is responsible for the upkeep, effectiveness and troubleshooting of the ERP system. This includes the responsibilities and contractual requirements for implementing and actively maintaining appropriate cybersecurity to protect company and customer data and digital networks. It also includes the adequate documentation of procedures for ERP system uses and functions.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Recommend policy for the ERP systems used by Tavis in support of operations, compliance and management of the company.
  • Facilitate sales order tracking and scheduling tools and procedures, as well as the necessary system tools for cost accounting of sales order activities, work orders and inventory.
  • Collaborate with mid-level department managers to establish and document (with configuration control) the inputs to, and the outputs from, the ERP system.
  • Improve company efficiencies through the appropriate application of the ERP system, computer equipment and software.
  • Extract and analyze company data as necessary in support of other managers and the company President.
  • Provide the necessary training for employees to properly use the company’s ERP systems.
  • Establish and document all necessary procedures for the use of the company’s ERP systems.
  • Support end users by troubleshooting error messages and training users on more efficient processes.
  • Respond to trouble tickets through the ticket system including tracking resolutions.
  • Provide timely support to end-users with instruction, training and problem resolution through hands-on support, and excellent oral and written communication.
  • Help facilitate and/or participate in testing with users for ERP related enhancements and fixes.
  • Develop reports and queries to present data to decision makers and managers in a usable fashion.
  • Customize ERP system forms and screens to user specifications.
  • Create cases with ERP vendor support.
  • Work with ERP vendor support for unresolved issues or bugs.
  • Assist IT Department with the implementation of ERP modifications, new ERP system integrations, patch releases, major upgrades and cybersecurity implementations.
  • Ability to work independently while interfacing with multiple departments, including Finance / Accounting, Production, Engineering, and QA / QC.Perform building maintenance involving plumbing, painting and carpentry
Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field.
  • 1 – 3 years ERP Administration or similar experience.
  • Proficient in SQL, Microsoft Query and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of Business, Financial, and Accounting practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
